Thai Fabric Heritage
To praise and follow the royal determination of H.M. the Queen in conserving and promoting Thai handicrafts, Tourism Authority of Thailand had produced a book titled, Thai Fabric Heritage to honor H.M. the Queen in the auspicious occasion of 80 birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit. In addition, it aims to disseminate the persistence, patience, and intelligence of H.M. the Queen for her performance as a strong leader in the national cultural heritage conservation, as well as in the promotion of the traditional cloth hand weaving methods, especially Thai silk fabric. Moreover, this publication is the collection of traditional cloth weaving sources in the four regions of Thailand where the original patterns which are unique and famous in each community remain practices. The art and knowledge of these patterns are well-known as the precious treasure and identity of the ethnics who have settled down throughout the country. The book will be an important source for those who are interested in Thai fabric. It can be used as a guidebook for studying, visiting, or buying Thai fabric for wearing, home decoration, or souvenirs.
